Within close proximity to Wal-Mart, CVS Pharmacy, Publix, specialty stores, medical facilities, restaurants, Thomasville Road and an I-10 entrance Killearn Acres is a solid choice for families. There are two parks available only to Killearn Acres residents and their guests. Pimlico Park features a pond for boating and fishing and a wire backstop for baseball or softball. Man-o-War Park features a large play area with swings and a fun colorful climbing apparatus for young children, this park is also great for picnics.

Unlike Killearn Estates, Killearn Acres is outside of the city limits. The City of Tallahassee provides water and electricity to the area, but not public sewers. Homeowners maintain their own septic tanks in exchange for lower utility bills. If you are looking for “cookie cutter” houses you’ll not find any in Killearn Acres. You’ll find houses made of wood, brick, stone, vinyl siding and Hardie board. Some houses have been updated or enlarged while some continue to give off a feeling from an earlier time. The popular “3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom” dominates the selection of homes in Killearn Acres, but there are also some that are 3/2.5, 4/2 or 4/2.5. Nearly all of the properties have a fireplace, and about 6% have a backyard pool.
